  1. Prepare 2 cups of peeled and chopped lauki/bottle gourd.

  5. It's 3 of cloves.
  6. It's 2 tbsp of butter/oil.
  7. You need 1 of vegetable seasoning cube (I have used Maggi brand); optional.
  8. Prepare To taste of Salt.
  9. It's 1 tbsp of ghee or butter for seasoning.
  10. Prepare To taste of Black Pepper powder.
  11. Prepare as needed of Chopped cilantro or coriander leaves and/or green onions for garnishing.

  1. In a pressure pot, heat butter or oil and once hot, add onions, ginger, cloves, green chilies and chopped bottle gourd and sauté on medium high for 2 to 3 minutes..
  2. Add water to cover the vegetables and cook on high pressure for one whistle..
  3. Once the pressure has dropped, drain the cooked vegetables and remove the cloves, ginger pieces and green chilli pieces (this is optional)..
  4. Blend the drained vegetables to a fine paste and transfer to a saucepan along with the strained broth..
  5. Add salt to taste along with a single crushed cube of seasoning (optional). Mix well, bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes..
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the seasoning. Heat ghee in a small saucepan and once melted, add pepper powder and fry for a few seconds. Tip this into the hot simmering soup and mix well.
